Two bands that started out as jazz/funky outfitts, with fusion and with their decades modern sound, in Level 42s favour new wave and in Jamiroquais favour, house muisic.

Two bands who later eased out on the escapisme, and become more tame, but both have a very individual sound whos easly recogniceable.

I myslef can't decide yet.

Jamiroquai for me - he's more stylish of two (and generally more jazzy)

I lump Level 42 with the rest of the disposable British pop of the 1980s.

Jamiroquai were (or maybe still are? - have not been following them) somewhat more original. Or maybe,  being a 1990s band, they simply avoided being implicated in the cheese deluge of the 1980s.
