Vilnius has two annual jazz festivals - traditional Vilnius Jazz, presenting as rule most experimenting music and young "Vilnius Mama Jazz", with more mainstream program. This year's Vilnius Jazz program wasn't so impressive with headliner David Fiuczynski (and best program concert presented by ex Ganelin Trio members Vladimir Chekasin and Vladimir Tarasov). "Vilnius Mama Jazz" program is more intriguing with one of world's most interesting world fusion musician Puertorican sax player Miguel Zenon (his quartet member), hard bop veteran sax player Ernie Watts, Norwegian world fusion trio Arve Henriksen,Jan Bang & Stian Westerhus, American leading nu jazzers Snarky Puppy and Cuban pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba (with new project "Volcan"), plus lot of domestic musicians.
