Formed in the UK in 1967 by Bert Jansch, Jacqui McShee and John Redbourn.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Yes they were part of the British Folk Scene alongside Fairport Convention and Steeleye Span, but Pentangle mixed folk with jazz.
