Looking at this year's New Orleans jazz festival lineup is very discouraging, very little jazz amongst the headliners that includes artists like Stevie Nicks, Foo Fighters and the Rolling Stones. I can remember going to the festival in the early 80s and it was wall to wall jazz and RnB, including artists like Cecil Taylor performing in a big tent to a crowd of hundreds. So sad to see what the festival has become, just another big name rock concert of geriatric performers.

Looks like the festival has been moved to spring 2022. Maybe by then Charlie Watts will be back playing with the Stones so there will at least be one jazz musician at the festival.
