Does anyone have any suggestions for my 13 year old for a fake book? I'm starting to teach him how to improvise more and more and I thought a fake book would be great.

Are any of these books solid choices?

Thank you all!

I have two of the books they show and they are both great:

"The Real Book" is the classic jazz fake book, This is the book that most jazz musicians start with, its highly recommended.

"The Ultimate Fakebook" is more classic pop oriented, but I love the fact that you get so many songs with it. Learning to play songs by the Beatles and Stevie Wonder etc, can be just as interesting as playing jazz tunes.

Both of those books are just outstanding.
