Music streaming service Jazzed to launch with a focus on jazz

We’ve seen a handful of dedicated classical-music streaming services, but now jazz is getting the niche-DSP treatment.  https://jazzed.com/" rel="nofollow - Jazzed  is a UK-based startup preparing to launch its streaming service on 12 February, focused entirely on jazz.

The service will initially offer two tiers: an ad-supported free tier with 10 curated audio channels, a TV channel and the ability to watch concerts, sessions and music videos, as well as read articles; and a ‘Jazzed+’ tier for £5.99 a month, with more audio and TV channels, plus video exclusives and no ads.

At a later point, another premium tier, Jazzed Premium, will launch for £14.99 a month, offering more than five million tracks on-demand, HD lossless audio, and the ability to ‘play anywhere, listen offline’. At launch, Jazzed will be available on smartphones, computers and smart speakers, with smart TVs and cars to follow.

The initial emphasis on linear, lean-back listening will include channels devoted to all manner of jazz sub-genres and historical scenes, from Brit jazz and jazz funk to the sounds of New Orleans or Blue Note. The venture is headed by Jonathan Arendt, the former boss of radio station Jazz FM.
