Who is you favorite female jazz singer of the old days ? Mine is Dee Dee Bridgewater

Bridgewater was the daughter of a jazz trumpeter and rose to fame in the 70s, first with the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra and then in the Broadway musical The Wiz (later turned into a movie featuring https://www.udiscovermusic.com/artists/diana-ross/" rel="nofollow - Diana Ross and https://www.udiscovermusic.com/artists/michael-jackson/" rel="nofollow - Michael Jackson ), for which she won a Tony award. After dabbling with soul and fusion in the latter part of the decade, Bridgewater signed to Verve in the 90s and quickly established herself as one of the best female jazz singers in contemporary jazz.
