I think the problem with a lot of the fusion music is that it's extremely predictable, it's a rock rhythm and the solos all play the same stuff and they play it over and over again ...

I've been wanting to update our genre definition for Contemporary. I know these piano trios that mix jazz, classical and art rock are a big deal right now.
In your opinion, of the piano trios we have labeled Contemporary, which do you think are the most important, or the leaders in the new piano trio style?

In recent years I discovered quite a bunch of european trios( many of them leaded by pianists with a classical training) that play this kind of music,I don't know how many fans they have-personally I feel quite lonely as a fan of this style.
I fail to see any leaders of this style , but Yelena Eckemoff and Neil Cowley are two of the important names that come to my mind.
