Two of music’s most recognizable voices take over at Sony Centre. As one of the most successful recording artists and entertainers of all time, the legendary Diana Ross performs June 24. On June 26, multi-GRAMMY winner Norah Jones takes the stage. Selling over 47 million albums, Jones proves why she’s this era’s quintessential American artist.

The TD Toronto Jazz Festival shines the spotlight on three outstanding vocalists. Canadian vocal powerhouse Emilie-Claire Barlow performs at Koerner Hall on June 25 while the next night sees one of Cuba’s greatest treasures on her farewell tour. Best known for her work with the Buena Vista Social Club™, Omara Portuondo caps off a seven-decade career on June 26Cécile McLorin Salvant returns to the Festival on June 27, with pianist Sullivan Fortner, recreating the magic that won this year’s GRAMMY for Best Jazz Vocal Album.

Tower of Power celebrates its 50th anniversary at The Danforth Music Hall on June 25. Driven by powerful horns and tight bass lines, their distinct brand of music is relentless and a party like no other.

The Horseshoe hosts a double bill on June 26, featuring electric bassist Rich Brown’s Rinsethealgorithm and Ghost-Note, a new project from Snarky Puppy’s percussion duo Robert “Sput” Searight and Nate Werth which pushes the boundaries of jazz.

This May, the Festival announces its star-studded opening weekend celebrations. The annual festival has now expanded onto Bloor street, extending its footprint. In a new opening-weekend setting, 2019 will feature a surprise legendary band.
