Explosive British jazz trio The Comet Is Coming are back with a new album this spring; their first with legendary record label Impulse!. The group, that was nominated for the Mercury prize in 2016, consists of pervasive saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings, Dan Leavers on synth and keys and Max “Betamax” Hallett on drums. The album will be titled ‘Trust in the Lifeforce of the Deep Mystery’; they say “it’s a 21st century take on spiritual jazz that is part Alice Coltrane, part Bladerunner”. Spoken word artist Kate Tempest is a collaborator on one of the tracks called 'Blood of the Past'. The first single, 'Summon the Fire' is out now with the full release coming on 15 March
