And there could be more but only 25 spots to fill. Even I do not own them all, about 80% only Tongue We need a new Poll. I will have to think hard myself because Sonny has so many good ones.
might start here........."theres no business like show business"

I am shamefully low on Sonny Rollins music, although he does show up on a couple of my Pandora stations. Looks like I may be finally making some money this year, I think some Sonny vinyl or CDs need to go on my to get list.

Plenty of good ones to choose from John. I honestly have not made up my mind myself. There are 5 there that I cannot choose between. I like "Worktime" because it is just one great no frills Hard Bop album but "Way Out West","The Bridge" or "Saxophone Colossus" or Tenor Madness" or.............it just keeps goingConfusedBig smile

Oh man, you're killing me here. I've only heard Saxophone Colossus and Tenor Madness.

I have some budget label best-ofs re-issued in the 70s, that's about all for now.

Pablo they are your faves. My reasoning is if you have only heard a couple or few, even one and if you like it.  Tomorrow when you hear a new one, change your mind thenBig smile They can't be your faves if you have not heard them yet.

Hows that for logicBig smile

"Saxophone Colossus" is one of his best. Nothing wrong with "Tenor Madness" though either Cool

I'm going for "Worktime" something about it that just hits the spot. More a personal faveApprove It is the one I play the most. "Way Out West"  though made it a very close photo finishCool

I do not own all of these lists, too. And I almost accord with an opinion of Pablo, too.

I remember that I said that I like trio of irregular formation before. And I go to Live at the Village Vanguard.

Drum and bass and sax. trio can hear a flow of good bop.

From what I listened from Rollins Saxophone Colossus is a monument - one of greatest hard bop album I ever heard.
