I think the problem with a lot of the fusion music is that it's extremely predictable, it's a rock rhythm and the solos all play the same stuff and they play it over and over again ...

added. could you recommend the genre's tags for any of his albums?he's added under post-bop, but it looks his recordings (and lot of collaborations) are of different sub-genres

Yes, to paraphrase Slava:
We have added him as Post Bop, but some of his later albums probably belong in Post Fusion Contemporary, help us with those albums if you can.
