Vote for the 50 Greatest Jazz Artists of All Time in BBC Music Jazz Poll 

Following the announcement of the special pop-up jazz digital radio station, BBC Music Jazz, which is a collaboration between BBC Radio, Jazz FM and EFG London Jazz Festival, which will run on DAB digital radio from 12-15 November, listeners and jazz lovers are being invited to vote for the 50 Great Jazz Artists of All Time.

A master list of jazz artists have been nominated by the jazz community and to vote for your favourite, you can visit www.bbc.co.uk/jazzvote.The vote opens today, 6 October, and closes at 8pm on 22nd October. The final results will be announced on BBC Music Jazz in a show called the 50 Greatest Jazz Artists presented by BBC Radio 3 presenter Geoffrey Smith and guest presenter, Jazz FM’s Helen Mayhew between 12-15 November at 4pm each day on the pop-up jazz radio station.

BBC Music Jazz will be available across DAB digital radio, online and via the iPlayerradio app. This is the first pop up ‘collaboration’ between BBC Music and Jazz FM. Click here for full details of the scheduled programming for the jazz festival.

RESULT ANNOUNCED: The Greatest Jazz Artist of All Time: Miles Davis (from a BBC Music Jazz listeners' poll)

BBC Music Jazz, the temporary digital radio station has announced the results of the of a poll of BBC Radio and JazzFM listeners. Listeners have been voting for the greatest jazz musician of all time, from a shortlist of 50, and the winner is:
