Georgia Mancio and Alan Broadbent collaborate for UK tour

Grammy Award winning pianist, composer and arranger Alan Broadbent, who is best known for his work with Charlie Haden’s Quartet West, is to collaborate with noted London-based singer and composer Georgia Mancio, who also helms the Revoice! Festival, for UK dates during September and October.

In recent years Broadbent has worked as an arranger for Diana Krall and Paul McCartney, and will be writing and arranging with Mancio for a new Songbook project of original material that they will take out on the road with bassist Oli Hayhurst and drummer Dave Ohm, before recording an album scheduled for release in Summer 2016. The dates for the Alan Broadbent/Georgia Mancio Songbook include; The Apex, Bury St Edmunds (22 Sept); Bonington Theatre, Nottingham (24 Sept); Watermill Jazz Club, Dorking (8 Oct); Pizza Express Jazz Club, Soho (9 Oct).

Meanwhile Mancio will release a live album compiled from the annual Revoice! Festival, an event she founded in 2010 to focus on international jazz vocal talent. Georgia Mancio Live At Revoice! features the singer in duo performances with a hefty roster of names, including Liane Carroll, Jason Rebello, Michael Janisch, Nikki Iles, James Pearson, Laurence Cottle and Robert Mitchell, and will be released on Roomspin Records in late November, with a launch at Soho’s Pizza Express Jazz Club on 16 November as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival.
