The third annual New York Hot Jazz Festival will take place at the Players at 16 Gramercy Park South in Manhattan on May 3, from noon to 2 a.m. This year the festival is expanding into swing music with bands such as Andy Farber's 17-piece After Midnight Orchestra (formerly known as Jazz at Lincoln Center All-Stars), as well as Wycliffe Gordon & Friends. Additionally, according to a press release, Australian bassist and vocalist Nicki Parrott, will lead a trio featuring cornetist Warren Vaché. Other performers include Bill Charlap, Bria Skonberg and Her Jazz Compatriots, Evan Christopher's Clarinet Road, Stephane Wrembel and the Hot Sardines.
