The year 2020 wasn't just another year, it was an extremely strange time around, and not much different speaking about jazz scene as well. Lot of albums' releases were postponed, and then plenty of vault materials has been released, often of lower than average quality. Few good archival albums came still.
English jazz scene is still on the top, possibly there are not so many unexpected new music, but it still produces most youthful and fresh jazz around. Shabaka & The Ancestors - We are Sent Here By History Nubya Garcia - Source American (pre-dominantly New Yorkian) mid-generation creative jazz as often generates plenty of strong albums Peter Evans - Being & Becoming Kirk Knuffke - Brightness: Live In Amsterdam Jim Black - Recon Whit Dickey - Morph Joel Harrison+18 - America At War Jason Robinson - Harmonic Constituent Noah Preminger - Contemptuent Aruan Ortiz - Inside Of Rhythmic Falls Of jazz veterans releases, this one I possibly like the most Charles Lloyd - 8:Kindered Spirits And for the end - one very strong album from Japan Bonjintan -Dental Kafka
