A new and unreleased Miles Davis album - The Lost Septet - will be available from 31st July 2020 A new and unreleased Miles Davis album - The Lost Septet - will be available from 31st July 2020. “If you are going to change your music, you gotta change your band,” Miles Davis said. And he never stood still. The incredible 7 piece band, ‘The Lost Septet’, never recorded in the studio, but we are lucky that they did a European tour in October / November 1971. Featuring some star players including pianist Keith Jarrett and saxophonist Gary Bartz, the recording was made by a radio station in Vienna when the group played at the famous Weiner Konzerthaus in the city. The album features music from his explorations of jazz-rock-fusion, including songs from Bitches Brew, In a Silent Way and Live-Evil. It’s the second part of a trilogy of lost Miles Davis performances, with the third part to follow in a few months’ time. The Lost Septet is officially released on the 31st July 2020. from https://planetradio.co.uk Edited by snobb - 30 Jul 2020 at 6:37am |
