Holland will perform at 8 p.m. in a ticketed event with Princeton’s Small Group I at Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall. The other events, beginning at noon, will take place outside on Princeton’s New Jersey campus. They are free and open to the public, and will feature such acts as the Donny McCaslin Quartet, Joel Frahm, Tia Fuller, Ingrid Jensen, the Charenée Wade Quartet, and Pedrito Martinez Group. “We are very excited to launch this new festival bringing together a wide array of today’s most creative and accomplished jazz artists performing with our remarkably talented students,” Mahanthappa said in a press release. “A full afternoon of diverse, free concerts capped by an evening with the legendary Dave Holland—it promises to be a fantastic day of music, as well as an opportunity for the community at large to come together and enjoy what we hope will become an annual tradition.” For more information and to buy tickets—$15 for the general public and $5 for students—go here. from https://jazztimes.com Edited by snobb - 22 Feb 2019 at 12:27pm |
