I think the problem with a lot of the fusion music is that it's extremely predictable, it's a rock rhythm and the solos all play the same stuff and they play it over and over again ...

A lot of names I never heard about, from what I know Ken Vandermark trio sounds really interesting, Yaruzelski's Dream Trio from Italy are interesting new band as well.

Festival of contemporary music, I guess at least some of the artists are not from the jazz scene
Ticket price is around 12 Euro / day

When I left Romania I wasn't yet into improvisational / contemporary stuff, but now I regret ignoring it and the Sibiu festival completely.

Not to be confused with the Sibiu Jazz Festival (great in the 70s but now playing very conventional stuff).
