The Shining for me Matt. Even if the ghost element isn't as big as in some of the others listed, it's still one of the best-made films up there so I'm going with old Kubrick.

Ya forgot Ghostbusters DeadTongue

The Shining is my fave, but since Poltergeist didn't have a vote...

Lots of these I never saw or heard about, though!
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicted musicians to crazy ones....

There's a TV mini-series, more faithful to the book and full of ghosts: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118460/

Scott yes, sure is but being purists it has to be the original Jap version Big smile Same with The Ring Cool

Saw one recently that was good and did not mention called The Echo.

My daughter saw a new one at the film festival here a couple of weeks ago called The Innkeepers and gave it the thumbs up. Said it was good and different.

I've not actually seen The Grudge, I just remembered seeing commercials for it.  I am mostly too chicken for ghost stories, although I do partake from time to time.

There is a new one on the way called Grave Encounter

Trailer  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8FBRATbJoA&feature=related

We are all horror film buffs here but they need to have a bit of originality or creativity with the film.

Has anybody seen the Irish Short film The Ten Steps...............goes for around 10 minutes.  Watch it if you like

Good stuff
