Do you know any turkish jazz bands? A couple of years ago, I heard one on an internet radio station, and I really liked it a lot. The problem is that I can't remember the name... They played more or less in a fusion style (turkish folk music with jazz).

Some time ago I received a promo kit from Aura Records, a Turkish jazz label based in Istanbul(It seems that they closed)
You can check out http://jazzworldquest.com/aura_records.shtml too see a couple of their past releases and hear some samples loaded to the web player. You can also read about 2 CDs released by Turkish jazz musicians here http://worldjazznews.blogspot.com/search/label/Turkey I am not sure this is what you were looking for but anyway Turkish jazz is doing well there are many great bands and musicians there, either mainstream or fusion |
