Some of my favourites:
Fairport Convention-Festival Bell
Adele-21
PJ Harvey- Let England Shake
Marianne faithfull-Horses and High Heels
I think the problem with a lot of the fusion music is that it's extremely predictable, it's a rock rhythm and the solos all play the same stuff and they play it over and over again ...

I've only picked up three from this year this year so far (so far so far? Tongue)
Radiohead - King Of Limbs
Knifeworld - Dear Lord, No Deal
Jakko Jakszyk/Robert Fripp/Mel Collins - A Scarcity Of Miracles

Did some catch up for last year with two The Reasoning releases: Adverse Camber and Acoustically Speaking, which are overshadowing those three at the moment.

The only 2011 albums Ive heard so far are

Beardfish - Mammoth
Neal Morse - Testimony 2
Sympony X - Iconoclast
Bela Fleck & The Flecktones - Rocket Science

Beardfish and Neal Morse albums are 5 star albums. The Symphony X and Bela Fleck albums are 4 star albums leaning heavily towards 4 1/2

I'm glad I haven't gotten it yet. You're not the first person to say that. I feel like the new Yes album will be the same way (...heads over to PA)

New Yes is so-so, but strongly  Downes/Trevor Horn/The Buggles album.David Benoit tries hardly to imitate Anderson...  Anyway, if you liked Horn/Downes version of Yes, you possibly will like this album, but not my cup of coffee.

Downes is on keyboards filling all the space around,Trevor Horn isn't on board, but musical material is coming mostly from The Buggles unreleased promo from 80s.

Ugh, I thought this was going to be brand new. I really like Drama eh, but stil.

Anyway, if you remember my posts on PA, I'm not actually really mad about new prog releases from old bands. Probably won't buy this. (and I saw Yes last year! heh)

Im guessing the new Neal Morse blows the new Yes album out of the water (like a fish, oh snap!)

Seriously, Testimony 2 is so good!. It has a couple Yes-influenced moments, and all they do is make me throw my fist in the air in triumph LOL

All songs are recorded new with current team, just were written three decades ago Smile. Not much of neo-prog, more retro-prog from 80s

Yeah I know, but I thought it would still be brand new material from now. I've listened to various clips on YouTube and it sounds like Unitopia or some other retro-happy Prog band, not much distinguishable nor interesting for me (anymore).

My favorite record of 2011 so far is Tables and Stairs by Nikos Veliotis, Ferran Fages and Robin Hayward. Excellent EAI.

Villariny Salsa Project...En Tu Tiempo
Los Chicharrons...Roots of Life......African Fusion....Afro Beat

Not so fav

Bill Laswell.........Aspiration..........I wish the whole thing had aspirated

And as usual the left curve from me, I do want to hear the new Devin Townsend, most likely will get it soon. May be seeing him in September but Sisters of Mercy is on the other stage at the same time Confused See how I feel on the day.

tangled thoughts of dreaming are leading in the album of the year category as far as I'm concerned. Other than that, Snowgoons present Lord Lhus - The Iron Fist is a really good release for this year. Noir by Blue Sky Black Death is up there as well. Thats all that comes to mind... posters at the PA might remember me for my 2011 Is Such A Disapointment thread
