By the way, it is the birthday of my son today. He became 4 years old. Probably the cake for birthdays will be prepared tonight. The photograph later.

Yes. Hot seasoning is necessary really in winter. And I was surprised again. Wow, There was ponzu sauce in the United States.

I've been under the weather lately with the cold/flu/hay fever sort of problems. This is when I really crave hot spicy food with strong flavors. I've been making homemade chili a lot lately.
Tonight I picked up a blackened tuna salad with a great ponzu sauce, and a vegetable/pickle sushi roll with lots of wasabi and ginger on the side.

I took leftover BBQ chicken and ripped off all the meat, chopped it up, threw in some onions and peppers, and made some delicious chicken salad

Looks like a good lunch to me.
Today's lunch was home made for me: fried potatoes and onions with a Greek salad on the side, the salad was lettuce, kalamata olives, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese and cherry vinegar dressing. Just got back from a long gig and its still warm out in the middle of the night. Time for some beer with a shot of cassis poured in, in fact its time for several beers.

Today's Tokyo does not have good much weather. The unstable weather does not feel summer very much. And today's lunch does not have many changes all the time either. A rice ball. A chopped salmon enters among them. The seasoning is saltiness in the whole. An octopus. A cucumber. Seaweed. It is called Sunomono. Thin soy sauce and vinegar.
In today's Tokyo, I slightly prepared for miso soup because temperature was low. It is almost seaweed. And the leek which was chopped finely.

Yes, the octopus would come in a vinegar dressing with some cucumber slices and maybe a little seaweed. It has a Japanese name, I think it starts with Sunomo.... or something like that.

The octopus often makes salad with seaweed in Japan. The seasoning is soy sauce and vinegar or something. Or it is marinade.

Yeah, I used to eat octopus salad a lot in San Francisco. I used to know the name for it, but it has been a long time.

It looks good. I did not have such a lunch recently. I always should always take in a fish and vegetables and seaweed, too. An eel and an octopus are known as summer seasonal food in Japan. It is food to maintain physical strength.

Tried out a sort of high-end local Thai restaurant yesterday for takeout. They had good food, but it was not authentic and half of the menu was Japanese, so I got mostly Japanese food with an American influence:
Ahi Tuna salad with seaweed and vegetables plus a vegetable sushi roll with soft avocado and pickled vegetables. It was a good lunch.

Meatloaf looks look good. It seems to use a grill in home cooking of America. Therefore, it becomes almost like the hamburger steak because grills do not spread in Japan.
By the way, the food which wrapped the rice ball with meat was popular recently in Japan. I have not eaten it. I see it like a bomb for me. |

^ my favorite sandy
meatloaf this week; the onions and peppers should be sauteed before going in the meat mixture, many don't do that. And a healthy teaspoon of salt is very important. |
