Acclaimed composer, improviser, bandleader and saxophonist Matana Roberts hits hip London hangout Cafe OTO next week for a triumvirate of 'Wildcard' shows that locate her in duo, trio and quartet formations alongside a bevy of UK talent.
First in the series is her hook-up with pianist Alexander Hawkins on Tuesday 25 October, before she's joined by audio alchemist Leafcutter John and trumpeter Byron Wallen on Wednesday 26 October. Finally, on Thursday 27 October, Roberts reconfigures for a quartet set-up during a performance that sees her allied with pianist Robert Mitchell, bassist Neil Charles and drummer Mark Sanders.
