"Live at Montreaux"      Great overview of a little bit of everything he does.

This basically boils down to how much 'out' you can take. If that's not a concern, I'd recommend Atlantis, The Heliocentric Worlds (Vol. 1/2), and Space Is The Place (either the soundtrack or the studio album). If you want something a little more normal, I'd recommend Angels & Demons, The Futuristic Sounds Of Sun Ra, and Visits Planet Earth.

Sun Ra's catalogue is jammed packed with brilliance but it is massively daunting. It is well worth the effort though!
Hit it on Five.

Saxophone Scatterbrain Blitzberg

Stab them in the ears.
