The Ronnie Scott’s All Stars to Perform on Contemporary Jazz Cruise

Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club partners with Entertainment Cruise Productions, LLC

By Will DiGravio

Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club has announced a new partnership with Entertainment Cruise Productions, LLC to bring the 57-year-old jazz club’s sound onboard the company’s latest production—the Contemporary Jazz Cruise.

Featuring nightly performances by members of the Ronnie Scott’s All Stars band, the London club will be recreated on the ship as Ronnie Scott’s At the Revelation Lounge. The group, led by pianist James Pearson and fronted by vocalist Natalie Williams, will perform a mix of both jazz standards and modern classics.

“For over 50 years, the greatest jazz musicians on earth have traveled to London to perform on our stage,” said managing director Simon Cook in a press release announcing the partnership. “And now, for the first time ever, we’re taking the spirit of Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club directly to the fans and the music. We are excited to be bringing a piece of England’s history--and a great deal of its talent--aboard The Contemporary Jazz Cruise in 2017.”

“Ronnie Scott’s is, without question, one of the most important jazz venues in the world,” said Michael Lazaroff, executive director of Entertainment Cruise Productions, in the press release. “We are humbled that this storied club will be joining us on the Contemporary Jazz Cruise and creating an experience for our guests that can’t be found anywhere else.”

The week-long, Caribbean cruise sets sail from Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Feb. 4, 2017, and will travel to Nassau (Bahamas), San Juan (Puerto Rico), Samana (Dominican Republic) and the private Haitian Resort, Labadee.

In addition to the Ronnie Scott’s All Stars band, other acts onboard the ship include cruise host and music director Marcus Miller, Terence Blanchard, Gregory Porter, Dianne Reeves, Joshua Redman, the Robert Glasper Trio, Grace Kelly and more.
