As every December, it's time for summarizing year's results. 2015 was a great year in general, here is my personal list:

1. Pierre Dorge - Blui
2. Stephen Hayes - Pomegranate
3. Kris Davis - Save Your Breath
4. Steve Coleman - Synovial Joints
5. Matana Roberts - Coin Coin Chapter 3: River Run Thee

Rusresh Mahanthappa - Bird Calls
Vijay Iyer - Break Stuff
Masabumi Kikuchi/Ben Street/Thomas Morgan/Kresten Osgood - s/t
John Hebert - Rambling Confessions
Nonoko Yoshida - Lotus (and the best year's debut)

I'm sure I missed some good albums, but here are some I didn't miss, in no particular order:

Dave Douglas   "Brazen Heart"
Henry Threadgill   "In for a Penny, In for a Pound"
Walking Distance   "Neighborhood"
Matthew Shipp   "To Duke"
Christian Scott   "Stretch Music"
Jeff "Tain" Watts    "Blue Vol 1"
Vijay Iyer     "Break Stuff"

here's mine:

Top 2015 Jazz:

1- Kamasi Washington - The Epic
Kamasi revisits the Trane clan's heritage over three discs and four hours of exhilarating music, where you’ll find Pharoah, McCoy Tyner, Archie, John & Alice, the whole thing over great Santana-like rhythms. Some sung soul jazz and some trad-jazz spread throughout the three discs. You’d swear you’re back in the early 70’s on Impulse!

2- Ibrahim Maalouf – Red & Black Light
Released in parallel to Kalthoum, but with a different band and a magical successor to the JR/F of his phenomenal Illusion album

3- Algiers – Algiers
Difficult to describe this UFO,probably not anywhere close to jazz but it sounds fresh’n new

4- Ibrahim Maalouf –Kalthoum
An homage to the great Egyptian singer, a typical pre-Illusion Maalouf album.

5- Tigran Hamasyan – Mockroot
Though I prefer his live renditions of this album, Tigran climbs another rung on the ladder of true world fusion, sometimes slightly Zeuhl

6- Henry Threadgill Zooid - In for a Penny, In for a Pound
Typical Threadgrill, but one of his best in almost two decades

=====================

Jazz-related 2015 posted for the ProgArchives TOP 2015 (read JR/F, Zeuhl or Canterbury)

1- Scherzoo – 3
A real departure from the now-all-too-beaten-path Zeuhl… As fresh as Setnas two albums.

5- Alco Frisbass – s/t
Good debut from a Canterbury-influenced duo, but a real drummer would’ve been a real plus

7- Unit Wail - Beyond Space Edges
Not nearly as dark as their previous two, their best so far... from far...

9- Hooffoot - s/t
Don't know how these Swedes/Scandics do it, but they're doing it again

10- Jaga Jazzist –Star Fire
Still on a roll started a few years back, and still staying fresh , avoiding repetition

11- Elephant 9 – Silver Mountain
Still as excellent, but too bad that Fiske doesn’t make himself more felt throughout the album, though

14- Magma - Sl*g Tanz
15- Ghost Rhythms - Madeleine
16- VAK - Aedividia

my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicted musicians to crazy ones....

Since I write on this forum, I consider 2015 to be the more disappointing year regarding the jazz I like.
Although some of my favourite artist released new albums in 2015, there were no albums that knocked me over.
I like the new albums by Vijay Iyer, Tigran Hamasyan, Avishai Cohen (trumpet), Avishai Cohen (bass),Giovanni Guidi Trio , Chucho Valdes and Roberto Fonseca.
One special mention to a discovery I made this year-Brian Landrus Trio
I think the problem with a lot of the fusion music is that it's extremely predictable, it's a rock rhythm and the solos all play the same stuff and they play it over and over again ...

I just realized I forgot about Aka Moon's Scarlatti Book...

I could've also mentioneed the double live AKa Moon with Alefba

And if I had payed attention, I'd have put Slang's latest in my jazz 2015 tops as well

SLANG & PURBAYAN CHATTERJEE - PACE OF MIND

my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicted musicians to crazy ones....
