Borbetomagus bring the ruckus with documentary and vinyl in 2016

Borbetomagus-concert

This year promises to be a decidedly busy and pivotal one for free improvising noise vets Borbetomagus. First up, Belgian filmmaker Jef Mertens is set to put the wrap on his hour-long documentary about the group, A Pollock Of Sound, drawing on interviews, archival and recent performance footage to trace the history and influence of these highly-charged, no-holds barred insurrectionists. The director is currently on the hunt for a distribution deal. Meanwhile, check a chunk of feral film fuss with the movie’s trailer below.

Borbetomagus are also set to release several visceral recordings in the near future, including a special vinyl reissue of their 1981 album, Work On What Has Been Spoiled, on their own Agaric imprint. Also expect additional salvos by the trio from London-based boutique outfit Dancing Wayaang and a subscription live offering from Cafe OTO. Better invest in some earplugs while you’re at it.
