For those of us too stubborn to give up, the shopping for jazz at record/CD stores continues to decline.

Memphis has a fairly large CD/album store that used to carry a fair amount of new jazz on CD. They used to have a section for Matthew Shipp with a couple CDs that I went to purchase yesterday, but as it turns out they have scaled back on new jazz CDs and all of the Shipp CDs were shipped back Ermm.
I was able to get the new Schofield and Dizzy at Newport 57, but the pickings are getting slimmer and they no longer carry Matthew Shipp.

Checking the budget CD section at the local book store turns up a copy of "Porgy and Bess' at a very reasonable price.

That's one of the best and worst things about jazz...you can collect and collect but at the end of the day you'll only have a small percentage of an artists output. TongueDisapproveClown

^ thats a great Braxton album, track three is more fun than a barrel of drunk monkeys.
I was wondering, who are the musicians on Miles bootleg number 3?

Those two did come highly recommended (and I'm a huge Tony Oxley fan, so the trio set was a no brainer once I found out about it).

Bootleg #3 is the complete Miles At Fillmore set (previously edited down to the four Wednesday/Thursday/etc Miles  on Miles At Fillmore: Live At The Fillmore East), with three or four "bonus" songs from Miles & group playing at the Fillmore West earlier in the year.

Lineup:

Davis (trumpet), S Grossman (Sax), C Corea (E Piano), K Jarrett (Organ), D Holland (Bass), J DeJohnette (Drums), Airto (Perc). (The few Fillmore West tracks is the same lineup minus Jarrett.)
