I love it John.

La Notte

Image result for sory kandia kouyaté grand prix du disque 1970
Never heard very much of either of these two albums. Signed up to Spotify yesterday they seem to practically have it all these days, even Sory Kandia Kouyate . Shocked

99 cents Aust or 70 cents US. for the first 3 months and then about $ 13 Aust monthly or 10 US. One thing you don't get is album notes from covers but you can find it online. Also some stuff is not there. I noticed there is no Tum Label and some of the Fania stuff there is in a bit of a mess (out of album format). But look John 90% is there and wrapped to see all the ECM stuff , Firehouse Records and all the Syllart from Africa. Also you can save albums on your file with them so you don't have to suck up data when using it in the car or whatever.

Sounds good. I was listening to free pandora a few years back, but became frustrated with how limited the choices were and the way they gravitated towards popular stuff. For instance in the jazz world things like "Take Five", "My Favorite Things", "All Blues" etc.

SongsShipp: Symbol SystemsGreat Bliss 1 by David S. Ware Trio

Two solo piano albums 'Songs" should be a contest for spot the tune...............and if anyone did it would be sheer luck. Thought I'd try that one first as it looked pretty straight forward.......lol

"Symbol Systems"  "Industrial solo piano?"  still it was interesting but not entertaining

David S Ware ( Matthew Shipp)  Actually enjoying the title track "Bliss Theme"

I have a heap of their stuff so will plug away as it is interesting  as you never know what you are gonna get.

^ Yes, great trumpet solos and how about Wynton's jaggedy interjections, superb.

Re Matthew Shipp: Try out "Zero" or "To Duke", you will hear something familiar on those two.
Shipp is the first pianist in a while to pick up where Art Tatum left off.

^ There are some good ones on that one, a couple that lean in a blues direction.
