Yeah, "No Name on the Bullit" rocks. All of this talk reminds me of their work with Black Uhuru a few years earlier.

Yes "Black Satin John, great version, has a real good loop in it,that just sticks. Love "No Name On The Bullet" the previous track as well. They are all good actually. Afrika Bambatta had only been going a couple of years and was still very new with the Hip Hop. Sly and Robbie?, when I am asked by the younger ones I always tell them Gwen Stefani's ( No Doubt) hit "Hey Baby" with Bounty Killer. They know straight away then. Clap

The complexities of Sly and Robbie, not to mention the Producer, Mr Bill Laswell aka Material *(the band) during the eighties, They all rave about "Rhythm Killers" ( 1987)but "Language Barrier (1985) came prior. Both are great albums anyway and light years ahead for the mid eighties. These are not Reggae albums although there is a slight influence it is Funk/ Electronics with an amazing array of guests contributing on both.

On Now
SLY AND ROBBIE - Rhythm Killers cover

Last night and then again after this................picked up a brand new record of "Language Barrier" for $6 U.S. , Shipping killed me all the same which is to be expected with International. Randy's Reggae is the best place to shop for your riddims, also they deal through Amazon as well as direct.

Lovin' this one, half through reviewing. Gotta go watch the Grandson play basketball this morning. I have been trying to teach him sportsmanship, you know, "trample the weak and hurdle the dead" but he is too nicer a kid to listen to me.

Off to prepare a surface for glass cutting. My wife has taken up mosaics. She is doing well at it.

Found this at a Pawn Shop I wandered into one day quite a few years ago whilst waiting for the person I mentioned above.

I read Brian Eno once said about Ambient that you can choose not to listen at times and just hear bits. This a good one from Bill. He is at two Poles with me, I either like them or  it is right to the other extreme with not much middle ground.

Axiom Ambient: Lost in the Translation

This is a double album.
