A team of American expats who specialized in the Funk wave of Jazz-Rock Fusion only from the Dutch shores of the Atlantic. Their collaborators are a veritable Who's Who of jazz All-stars including Toto Blanke, Eddie Henderson, Chris Hinze, Rob Franken, Jasper van't Hof, Philip Catherine, Eef Albers, John Faddis, Randy & Michael Brecker, Dave Sanborn, Ray Gomez, Mtume, Mike Mandel, Eric Tagg, Ian Underwood, Kenneth Knudsen, Palle Mikkelborg, and Darryl Thompson--until they split forces when Chick Corea recruited Gerry as his replacement for Lenny White for Return To Forever's final two albums (Musicmagic and the amazing Live triple album). John went on to work with Larry Coryell and Alphonse Mouzon before settling in New Jersey to start his own record label, Jazz Legacy Productions.
The duo have five high-quality Jazz-funk albums that can be found on ProgArchives under the above moniker. I think they belong here. |
