Jazz great Dusko Gojkovic died in Munich at the age of 92 after a career spanning more than 60 years in his native Yugoslavia, Europe and the United States.

Gojkovic, a Serb born in Bosnia in 1931, graduated from the Belgrade University Conservatory in 1953 starting a career as a jazz trumpet player initially with Dixieland bands and then with the TV Belgrade Big Band.

He recorded with the Frankfurt Allstars in 1956 after moving to West Germany. Gojkovic played and recorded with Chet Baker, Stan Getz, Oscar Pettiford, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Sonny Rollins and other jazz greats. He received a scholarship for the Berklee College of Music in 1961.
