hey , i'm new to jazz. my main favorite genre is metal and prog metal. in this last year i have listened some jazz and now i'm really into it , unfortunately i cannot find many artists and songs in the type of jazz that i'm into. that's why i'm posting here to get some suggestions from you guys.
i'm into  bands and artists like Phronesis , Esbjorn Svensson trio , Avishai Cohen , Mal Waldron Trio , Keith Jarret .
i like progressive complected stuff with odd time signatures , out of scale runs and moderately fast tempo. not really searching for something to relax to  , complex song writing is what i'm looking for mostly.
some songs that i like:
Avishai Cohen - Seven Seas
Phronesis - One for us
Phronesis - Abraham's New Gift
Mal Waldron trio -Rat Now

Vijay Iyer is similar to some of the artists you listed. If you like metal, there is always Panzer Ballet.

E.S.T Dodge the dodo
St Germain - Rose Rouge
I think the problem with a lot of the fusion music is that it's extremely predictable, it's a rock rhythm and the solos all play the same stuff and they play it over and over again ...
