Hundreds of limited-edition titles in dozens of genres will be available nationwide

Evans in England is one of hundreds of limited-edition vinyl albums available on April 13, Record Store Day.

If you’re a vinylholic or CD-o-phile, you know the drill by now: This Saturday, April 13, more than a thousand independently owned record stores in the United States and internationally—yes, there are still that many—will have their day. Hundreds of limited-edition titles in dozens of genres are made available annually in late April to collectors and fans. Many of these releases have never before been available or are dressed up in swanky new packaging.

For vinyl fans, especially, it’s a chance to own something that few others ever will. They often don’t come cheap, these treasures, but don’t even bother asking a true record fanatic if that’s a problem.

Many of the record stores schedule special events around the day, including in-store live music performances, meet-and-greets, special merchandise and other enticements.

Each year, jazz is part of the mix, and we’ve made it easy for you: We at JazzTimes have gone through the master list of soon-to-be-available titles and pulled the ones JT readers will want to look for. Remember that not all participating stores are going to have all of these titles. (The numbers at the bottom of each listing indicate the run.)

For the full list, further details and a guide to participating stores, head over to the official Record Store Day website. (https://recordstoreday.com/)
