Since in jazz many artist play in different combinations is it possible to have a search function for an artist's colaborations in addition to his own discography? Like for instance I'd like to see all the albums on which Jan Garbarek played with others but are not listed under Garbarek(like Magico, Folk Songs)

Don't think so, because even if not speaking about technical possibilities, to have such function for every album on addition it should be added all collaborated artists (not on line-up list), what is huge amount of work

It's a brilliant idea, which is probably way too difficult to make come alive. Of course the idea is that eventually every album has an accurate line-up information (and a search of that field could perhaps make this happen), but that will take years of hard work from an army of dedicated collaborators.
MMA has been online for a full year now and I don't dare think of the workload that's still undone in terms of filling album informations.

A list of hyperlinks to the albums the artist appears on (or at least to the artists with which our initial artist collaborated) could be written manually in the artist biography. Like here: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=1245
