A new documentary about the famous Blue Note record label will premiere at the Tribeca Film Fesitval in April this year. Directed and written by Sophie Huber, ‘Beyond The Notes’ features interviews and footage from Wayne Shorter, Art Blakey, Robert Glasper and Herbie Hancock among many others. Huber says it’s a revelatory, thrilling and emotional journey behind the scenes of Blue Note Records, the pioneering label that gave voice to some of the finest jazz artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. The trailer has just been released.
