Very much tasty meat, potato and two veg kind of bluesily swinging jazz, a big bustling tenor sound from Danish tenorist Tomas Franck and his band of brothers. And no-nonsense drumming from Impossible Gentlemen drummer Adam Nussbaum drives the hard bop direction of the album, the Parlan originals chosen by the pianist himself, compellingly.

Bassist Jimmi Roger Pedersen toured with the former Blue Note artist and ex-Archie Shepp pianist Horace Parlan for many years and adds that extra special bass intuition to the sound while pianist Thomas Clausen has the unenviable task of occupying the Parlan piano chair.

The CD also comes with a DVD and there are some vocal tracks featuring singer Sinne Eeg.
