Joachim Kühn: 80th birthday & Federal Cross of MeritPianist Joachim Kühn receives the German Federal Cross of Merit (Bundesverdienstkreuz). The order, presented by German President Frank Walter Steinmeier, will be presented by the German ambassador in Paris on 12 April 2024.
Joachim Kühn, born in Leipzig in 1944 and now living in Ibiza, is regarded as the most renowned living German jazz musician of his generation. On 15 March 2024, he celebrates his 80th birthday and will be playing three major concerts: on 7 May in Stuttgart's Theaterhaus, on 10 May in the Berlin Philharmonie, and on 15 May in Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie.
Joachim Kühn has worked with ACT for more than 30 years and has released 19 albums, including the recently released album "DUO" - a musical meeting of generations with pianist Michael Wollny.
