Krakow is with no doubt most beautiful city in Poland (don't be mistaken by terrible Stalinist Warsaw architecture, true Polish spirit and soul is Krakow, not Warsaw). The weather this early autumn is exceptional in this part of the world, probably next week will be as great as this and previous one. So - fantastic place and great music, lot of adventurous jazz artists will play here starting from the end of the September
The programme of the Krakow Jazz Autumn is set, for the ninth time, to provide lovers of improvised music with a multitude of unforgettable concerts, workshops and other music-related events. Most of the planned concerts are the Polish premieres of new projects by recognised stars of the international improvised music scene. Particularly deserving of special attention are the evenings featuring Seeing as earlier projects by Barry Guy comprising a characteristic conglomeration of contemporary and improvised music were enthusiastically received by critics and audiences alike, it is fair to suppose that Guernica will turn out to be yet another of the festival’s top class music events. Equally deserving of attention are the concerts by musicians from the Polish alternative music scene, improvisation workshops, a photographic exhibition and panel discussions featuring the participation of many highly regarded critics from Europe and the USA. This will certainly be one of the brightest points on this year’s festival programme. Edited by snobb - 17 Sep 2014 at 9:23am |
