Thank you for sharing. The interview was interesting. I especially like performance of trio though I have some albums of Branford Marsalis.

I was young, I barely remember much about it now.
When we were standing outside he told me Larry Young had just died.

Speaking of friendly jazz stars, Groove Holmes let me come up on stage and sit behind him and watch while he played, how cool is that.

I actually have his "John Hancock" autograph on the cover of Joshua Redman's "Beyond" album with the band. He was busy chattin' up sheilas with Ruben Rogers the bass player after the gig at "The Continental" in Melb. Aust. Joshua Redman was busy signin' cds and Aaron Goldberg (pianist) was sitting at the bar with us. Jeff Tain Watts is an awesome drummer.
One thing ( bit of topic) but Jazz musicians and Country too are not stuck up and so approachable and they don't have tickets on them selves like many from popular music. Kurt Elling is a really friendly bloke when I met him.

You're welcome. A very interesting article. He sounds like a drummer that might need to be mentioned in the thread that I started asking about jazz drummers.
