Chris Botti, Gregory Porter, Al Di Meola, and Eddie Palmieri headline eclectic month-long programGregory Porter performing at the 2017 Oslo Jazz Festival (photo by Matija Puzar) The eighth edition of the Blue Note Jazz Festival — sponsored by Sony Corporation and INGLOT Cosmetics of Poland, with the Delegation of the European Union to the United Nations as a supporting partner—will take place from June 1 to June 30, 2018, with over 100 events in five New York City venues. Those venues include the Blue Note Jazz Club, Town Hall, the Highline Ballroom, Central Park SummerStage, and a brand-new location: Sony Hall, a 12,000-square-foot state-of-the-art performance space at the Paramount Hotel on West 46th Street in Manhattan. As part of the festival, Grammy Award-winning trumpeter Chris Botti will be one of the first artists to play at Sony Hall. Other performers scheduled to appear during the month-long fest include Gregory Porter, Al Di Meola, Eddie Palmieri, the Manhattan Transfer, Tab Benoit, Sérgio Mendes, Walk Away, and Polish pianist Wlodek Pawlik with special guest Randy Brecker, as well as Art Garfunkel, Lettuce, Tab Benoit, Robert Cray, Southside Johnny, and Bilal.
