My lunch of today is nigiri and a noodle of Japan. The noodle is always a similar noodle. Therefore, I put only the photograph of nigiri here. Nigiri that has already been seasoned with soy sauce. Carrot. Mushroom. Bamboo shoots. Burdock. They are finely chopped and exist. nigiriPostscript
There was an old photograph that I had put on this thread before. I have deleted it by mistake. It cannot be seen any longer.

Thank you for enjoying it. The inside of a store is very narrow actually. If about ten guests or more enter, the shop is almost full. However, this shop often invites the musician and does live. The bass player always performs in front of the rest room.

About 40 years ago. A lot of jazz bars and clubs existed in Japan. However, the situation changed gradually in the age and a lot of jazz bars closed the store. The existence of the jazz bar that remains in Japan is a little now. Therefore, the shop name is gradually known to the jazz hound. The jazz bar that I visited last night is not so known. However, the bar opened a store in 1975. I often visited there and was researching jazz. Then, the atmosphere of the jazz bar that I visited last night is put here. Please enjoy it. -------------The shop name is"Pithecanthropus Erectus"
Have you already noticed it? Yes. It quotes the album title of Charles Mingus. It is externals of the shop. The stairs have a sudden angle. However, I have not encountered the guest who gets drunk and is injured. Mystery.
I entered the shop and ordered the beer. The storekeeper and I spoke a situation each other. The conversation continues.
The bar always offers music by a large volume. When I visited the shop, John Coltrane performed.
I do not know an accurate number of albums that the bar owns.
I said that I wanted to listen to Count Basie from the storekeeper. He accepted my demand at once. "April in Paris" is my favorite tune. It listens to the graceful melody and I get drunk gradually.
I become comfortable. And, I ordered the storekeeper the gin and tonic. There is a little syrup in the gin and tonic.

The best Japanese restaurant I have tried in Memphis is called Sakura, its pretty good, but not as good as some of the restaurants I liked in San Francisco.
Sakura was recommended to me by a Japanese family I work with. I had to correct the two daughters pronunciation because they were pronouncing the word as if it was English, ha ha. A lot of people in Memphis pronounce all words as if they were English words. Slarti is right though, you can come to Memphis and enjoy our regional favorites: BBQ and soul food; grits, greens, biscuits and gravy, fried chicken, sweet potatoes, pecan pie, etc.

Thank you. Please teach to me here if there is interesting information. I try to remember it. Because tuna's documentary film was also of course unpublished in Japan, I knew it and was interested.

Just do a web search and I'm sure you might find a good spot in Memphis, your luck would be better in Atlanta though. But if going to the southeast US you should try regional stuff... |

Memphis is not a very sophisticated or cultured city, they are very naive about Asian cultures.
They probably think the Indian resaurants should have sushi too.

It is stories of a most interesting character. However, I think the culture of the country for seasoning and cooking to be introduced. Excluding a real dish. |

Yeah, I like Indian food and Kingfish beer too, but tonight I am having Japanese takeout. I have not had a day off in a long time so no cooking for me tonight.
The takeout is: Tekka nigiri california roll (they forgot my masago) seaweed and cucumber salad People in Memphis are kind of naive so I guess they expect to get sushi at a Chinese restaurant, so a lot of Chinese Restaurants here have sushi ..so I just walked across the street and got some pretty good sushi from the Chinese restaurant. You would never see a Chinese restaurant with sushi in San Francisco.

I was crazy about submitting the review of Indo/Raga about one year ago with PA. I often listen to the music of India since then. And, I am researching the section of Exotica and World Fusion with JMA now. My interest swells and I often go to the shop of Indian food. The atmosphere of the shop to which I went last night is put here today. ------I first entered the shop and ordered the beer. The beer is "King Fisher Beer".
There are a flavor and refreshing like the fruit though the taste is a little thin. The storekeeper and I are friends. He has carried snack to me free of charge at once. Dish thinly extended by using powder of something perhaps. Some beans. Hot sauce.
Because I had already drunk the beer, it was not so hungry. Next, it is "Tandoori gobi" that I ordered.
The cauliflower is seasoning of the hot sauce made from the spice and the yogurt.
I asked the storekeeper. I thought that it wanted the sake suitable for the tandoori gobi. The storekeeper recommended me rum. The name is "McDowell's"
The beer and rum that I drank are all from India.
The storekeeper has carried the cake to me free of charge again. Very sweet cake. There is a flavor like the vanilla, too. The texture is interesting.

It's not our fault God made them taste so good. I love good raw tuna. Practically a totally different creature than canned. I was watching a documentary on the bluefin and as it turns out an entrepreneur came up with the idea converting cargo containers that were bringing export electronics and stuff to the US to refrigerator units so that they wouldn't be empty for the trip back and started shipping tuna. http://current.com/shows/vanguard/93281119_sushi-to-the-slaughter-vanguard-trailer.htm Edited by Slartibartfast - 21 Jul 2011 at 6:45am |

Yes, The roe of Flying Fish might be used according to the shop.
However, I also feel that masago is a delicious dish.

I investigated it a little because there were not so many shops of sushi of California in Japan. Perhaps, I think, the name is "Masago". The specific roe that is called masago doesn't exist. Perhaps, I think it to be a name of the method concerning cooking. However, the roe is certainly used for masago roll. Perhaps, I think it to be a roe of shishamo smelt. It is a roe that shines to the orange. |

I remember what it was called in San Francisco now: masago or maybe masagoa, something like that, and I believe it was salmon roe, but I may be wrong.
